Care that comes to you.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Mae is a mobile lifespan doula bringing steady, compassionate support directly to your door through illness, aging, caregiving, and every hard transition in between.
Who Mae Is
Neighbors Nomadas is a traveling lifespan doula service and community care initiative providing holistic, non-medical support for rural people and spaces, following the doula model of care on a contribution-based, sliding scale so meaningful care is never out of reach.
Maegan (Mae) Hollister is a certified end-of-life doula and the heart behind Neighbors Nomadas. Her path here wound through AmeriCorps service, disaster response work, and years spent living alongside communities across Mexico and Peru — experiences that shaped a deep belief that showing up, in person and without judgment, is one of the most powerful things we can offer each other. Today Mae brings that same steady presence directly to your door, traveling by van to meet people wherever they are in life’s hardest transitions.
The Doula Model of Care
Neighbors Nomadas practices in full alignment with the doula model of care as defined by Lifespan Doulas — a trusted, non-medical companion so no one has to navigate alone. As a lifespan doula practice, our support is grounded in six guiding principles. Discover Doula Care →

“Mae’s set up with her van was the perfect solution for me during a great time of need. She parked her van in the driveway for 10 days and helped me with everything from wound care and medication management to meal prep, shopping, organizing, and cleaning. Mae’s mutual aid spirit and faith in paying it forward was genuine and refreshing — what goes around comes around!”
